She’s no stranger to having an A-list roster of friendships.

But Reese Witherspoon was adamant that her relationship with Jennifer Aniston was stronger than Ellen DeGeneres‘ during an episode of her talk show.

The 43-year-old Big Little Lies star told Ellen that the pair have ‘the best time together’ before Ellen battled back and claimed ownership of the better friend title.

‘Jen and I know each other better because we’re really, really good friends,’ Reese relayed to Ellen.

Aniston and Witherspoon recently teamed up to film the new Apple TV+ series, The Morning Show. 

‘She told me that she was so excited to work with me because she was tired of hanging out with you,’ Reese said.

‘She’ll say anything to make you feel better, that’s the kind of girl she is,’ Ellen told Reese. ‘She loves to make people feel better.’

After Reese left the stage, Ellen sat in front of the audience, picked up her iPhone and called Jennifer over speakerphone. 

Her guests listened intently at the ring tone before Aniston’s voicemail picked up to reveal her mailbox was full. 

Ellen then received a text message with Jennifer admitting she was stuck on the treadmill but to call her back.

Not too interested in picking a winner, Jennifer cautiously told Ellen she was the better friend since the pair had known each other for ’30 years’.  

‘We’ve cleared this up once and for all,’ Ellen told her crowd.

Reese recently wrapped filming the second season of her hit HBO show Big Little Lies with Meryl Streep.

While the female-driven show has been a huge success, Reese admitted that she’s definitely talking about’ reviving the character of Elle Woods from her hit 2001 flick Legally Blonde. 

‘It’s sort of about women being underestimated and I think it’s, like, a good idea,’ she said. ‘Things have changedm but not that much has changed. I loved playing that character.’
