The Phoenix-born beauty said she hasn’t talked directly with Buckingham for a ‘couple of years’ after this departure from the legendary band behind classics such as The Chain, Rhiannon and Little Lies.
She said she ‘was so disappointed’ amid Buckingham’s parting with the band in 2018 ago after conflicts with band members.
‘I never planned for that to happen,’ Nicks said. ‘Any time we re-formed to do a tour or a record, I always walked in with hope in my heart … I felt like all the wind had gone out of my sails.’
The singer-songwriter told the paper that she remains creatively inspired as she’s working on another album based off poetry she’s penned.

‘I can sit down at the piano and take out a poem that I wrote right in the middle of a really great relationship and make it into a song. Right now, at 72 years old,’ the Rooms on Fire singer said. ‘So when people say, “Can you still write romantic songs?” I absolutely can.’
In the interview, Nicks also gave her take on dating apps, saying its something she would not be partial to if she was looking for love.
‘Now, if I was even, like, 30 or 40 or 50, I would never use a dating app,’ she said. ‘I find that to be totally desperate. I watch all those crime shows. Are you setting yourself up with an axe murderer or something?’
Nicks is gearing up to release many new projects this month, such as a new single Show Them The Way, and a live album and concert film titled 24 Karat Gold.
