Candice Warner has revealed she ‘hit rock bottom’ while dealing with the fallout of her cricketer husband David’s ball-tampering scandal, and her tragic miscarriage.

The 35-year-old told the Powerful Steps podcast on Monday that she ‘just broke’ under the pressure.

She said: ‘To have people question us as people, question us as parents, question us as husband and wife – it’s really very difficult and it’s how you deal with it when you hit rock bottom.

Tough times: Candice Warner (pictured) has revealed she ‘hit rock bottom’ while dealing with the fallout of her cricketer husband David’s ball-tampering scandal, and her tragic miscarriage. The 35-year-old told the Powerful Steps podcast on Monday that she ‘just broke’

‘At first it’s devastating, [then] it isn’t so bad – you get to assess your whole life because things can’t get any worse.

‘I just couldn’t hold it back anymore – you try to be that brave person for everyone especially when you know people need your strength. But at that one moment I just broke – and I couldn’t contain myself’.

However the WAG says there was actually a positive outcome to those dark times.

‘Because I had that breakdown I felt I was better for it. With my positive mindset I thought – let’s make this work for us,’ she added.

The Warners along with their three daughters, Ivy, five, Indi, four, and Isla, one, spent time together enjoying multiple trips around the world following the turbulent aftermath of David’s ball-tampering scandal and the couple’s miscarriage.

David was banned for one year by Cricket Australia after he helped mastermind a plot to cheat in the Third Test against South Africa in March 2018.

Former captain Steve Smith and player Cameron Bancroft were also punished for their involvement, receiving 12-month and nine-month bans respectively.

Meanwhile, Candice told The Australian Women’s Weekly that she had miscarried just a week after David apologised for his role in the conspiracy.

‘I was bleeding. We knew I was miscarrying. We held one another and cried,’ Candice told the magazine.

‘The miscarriage was a tragic consequence, a heartbreaking end to a horror tour,’ she added.
