Car plunges 30metres at Hanging Rock Lookout, south of Sydney

Car plunges 30 metres off a cliff south of Sydney but emergency services say the driver of the vehicle has miraculously survived the fall

    • A car horrifically plunged 30 metres off a cliff south of Sydney about 7am Friday
    • The 30-year-old driver suffered head and face injuries after his car fell off cliff
    • Paramedics treated the man and he was airlifted to hospital in stable condition

The driver of a car which terrifyingly plunged 30 metres off a cliff miraculously survived the dramatic fall.

The 30-year-old driver suffered head and face injuries after his car fell at Hanging Rock Lookout, south of Sydney, just after 7am on Friday.

Emergency services said the car narrowly missed a walker on the Ben’s Walk Trail beneath.

Paramedics treated the driver for his injuries before he was airlifted to St George Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

NSW Ambulance Inspector Christopher Lahene said it was a miracle the two survived.

‘When we are called to jobs like this, where a car has accidentally gone off a cliff, it’s quite confronting for our paramedics,’ he told news.com.au.

‘It’s miraculous, even though the car plunged about 30 metres, that the patient was able to walk out of the scene.

‘If I were him or the person out for a walk, I’d be getting a lotto ticket because surviving something like this is quite extraordinary.’
