    Millions of foodies are obsessed with a DIY ‘hot chocolate bomb’ which cracks open when it comes into contact with warm milk, revealing a sweet surprise.

    Self-taught baker Jen from Sweets by Jen shared a video showcasing what the decadent dessert can do on October 5, with a number of Australians commenting on how ‘amazing’ it is. 

    The footage from Jen’s kitchen in Green Bay, Wisconsin, has gone viral on social media with more than 15million views to date.

    She starts by placing a ball of chocolate with white chocolate icing on top into a regular coffee mug.

    Then she slowly pours warm milk over the chocolate sphere, with a small hole forming at the top of it.

    Without warning 30 seconds into the video the ball flips onto its side and splits open, with tiny marshmallows bursting out of the chocolate, which is slowly melting around it.

    Jen continues to fill the glass with milk, stirring the concoction to make a rich hot chocolate drink.  

    ‘Wow, these look amazing. I definitely would like some,’ one woman wrote on the popular post.

    ‘Being a test subject for these, I can say they are SO SO good and perfect for fall,’ said another.

    A third added: ‘Beautiful job on these! I wish you continued success!’ 

    ‘Thank you for the amazing support on my hot chocolate bomb video, I am truly blown away and completely overwhelmed,’ Jen said in a post days later.

    A number of dessert lovers contacted Jen in hopes she might be able to ship the chocolate bombs to their destination, but after careful thought, she decided to keep the sales pick-up only

    ‘This was something I did for fun and thought I could offer to local clients. After much thought and consideration I have decided to continue to do what I love most which is decorating royal icing cookies and offering them to my local clientele.’ 

    ‘I am hoping to make a how-to video for the hot chocolate bombs. I hope you will follow along and continue to support me and understand that I need to do what is best for me and my family.’

    In the meantime those who want to attempt a DIY version at home can follow Craft Not Shifty’s YouTube video with tempered chocolate, fillable Christmas baubles and marshmallows.
