Ex-Big Brother star resurfaces on TV 14 years later looking hardly recognisable

Ex-Big Brother star at the centre of THAT ‘turkey slap’ scandal that shocked Australia resurfaces on TV 14 years later looking hardly recognisable – as she reveals her new life in Bali

She rose to fame as a contestant on Big Brother Australia in 2006.

And on Tuesday, former housemate Camilla Severi looked hardly recognisable with longer and lighter hair as she appeared on SBS’s Insight, 14 years after her reality TV debut.

During the interview, the now-36-year-old, who was at the centre of a ‘turkey slap’ scandal, revealed she lives in Bali with her husband and children.

My, how you’ve changed! Ex-Big Brother star at the centre of ‘turkey slap’ scandal that shocked Australia resurfaced on TV 14 years later looking hardly recognisable

Camilla explained she relocated to Brisbane after filming the reality show in 2006 and focused on her radio career.

‘I moved to Brisbane where I went on a breakfast radio show, so I was getting up at 3:30 in the morning and I had no idea what I was doing in the media and no training,’ she said.

‘It was quite a confusing time but I found my feet and I worked in radio for a further six or seven years. And then my career in radio finished up and I already had a child.’

‘I ended up moving to Bali and I now have two more kids,’ she added.

During her appearance on Big Brother in 2006, Camilla was embroiled in a scandal with co-stars Michael ‘Ashley’ Cox and Michael ‘John’ Bric, who were kicked off the program as a result.

A ‘turkey slap’ is slang for when a man rubs his crotch in someone’s face.

The incident occurred on July 1, 2006, and was live streamed on the Big Brother website. At the time, police investigated but no charges were laid.

The incident caused such an uproar that then Prime Minister John Howard even spoke about it, telling Macquarie Radio: ‘Well here’s a great opportunity for Channel 10 to do a bit of self-regulation and get this stupid program off the air.’

As reported by News.com.au in 2009, Michael Cox reportedly told Zoo Weekly that the incident had ruined his life.

He added: ‘The hardest part was having no support from anyone.’
