AFL superstar Dustin Martin, 29, celebrates wildly with a warm embrace of friend after winning the Grand Final
Dustin Martin celebrated Richmond’s third premiership in four years – and his third Norm Smith Medal for the grand final’s best player – with a warm embrace of the captain’s wife.
Celebrating on the ground after the Tigers’ come-from-behind victory at the Gabba on Saturday night, the notoriously private star picked out Brooke Cotchin in the crowd and rushed toward her for a tight hug.

He lifted Brooke off her feet as he emotionally embraced her, the pair sharing a few words before parting ways.
Martin is close with Tigers captain Trent Cotchin and his wife Brooke, having shared a house together.
‘I learnt so much about Dusty, the depth of him as a human being, some of the challenges he had faced growing up, the reason he behaved in certain ways at particular times and, most importantly, the genuine, caring and nurturing human he is,’ Trent Cotchin wrote for the Herald Sun in 2017.
The closeness between the Tigers players had grown through 2020 as they were forced to live together in quarantine while playing all bar the opening match of the season interstate due to Melbourne’s sustained lockdown.
Brooke paid a $20,000 AFL fine after she broke quarantine regulations to visit a day spa on the Gold Coast in July.
‘It was an honest mistake and one that I am incredibly remorseful for,’ Brooke said. ‘I am the first to admit I am not perfect, and I do make mistakes, this being one that I need to own and learn from.’
Ecstatic: Dustin understandably could not hide his delight over his team’s win, as he walked over to the blonde in the grandstand and hugged her tightly

The Tigers stormed over the top of Geelong, coming from 21 points down approaching half-time to win by 31 points.
Martin’s goal just before half-time gave Richmond a lifeline, and the Tigers took the upper hand in the third quarter, snatching back the lead before running away with the game in the last quarter.
‘First of all, I would just like to thank Geelong for an awesome game,’ he said.
‘You’re an awesome club. Well done to Gaz (Gary Ablett) on your unbelievable career. To the AFL, Toyota, the government, last but not least, the Richmond footy club. Let’s go.’
