Hillary Clinton says the thought of Trump winning re-election makes her ‘physically sick’

Hillary Clinton says the thought of Trump winning re-election makes her ‘physically sick’ and claims ‘most Republicans want to see him gone but can’t say it publicly ‘

    • Hillary Clinton has said that a second Trump term would make her feel sick
    • In a podcast released on Monday she said his re-election would leave her ‘literally sick to my stomach’
    • Clinton also said that she believes most Republicans ‘have been cowards, spineless enablers’ of President Trump
    • Donald Trump at a rally on Sunday had rare praise for Clinton
    • Trump told the New Hampshire crowd that Clinton had more energy than Biden
    • He also described her as more intelligent than the current Democrat leader

Hillary Clinton has said she will be ‘sick to my stomach’ if President Trump secures re-election in next month’s election.

‘It makes me literally sick to my stomach to think that we’d have four more years of this abuse and destruction of our institutions. And damaging of our norms and our values. And lessening of our leadership. And the list goes on,’ she said in a new podcast, to be aired on Monday.

She said she ‘can’t entertain the idea of [Trump] winning’ the election, which is just over a week away.

‘It would cause cognitive dissonance of a grave degree,’ she said.

In a New York Times podcast, Clinton explained that she was sure many Republicans felt the same way.

‘Most Republicans are going to want to close the page. They want to see him gone as much as we do, but they can’t say it publicly.’

She said the Republicans ‘have been cowards, spineless enablers’ of the president throughout his administration.

When asked in podcast, entitled Sway, if she would ever say ‘Lock him up!’ Clinton responded, ‘No, I would never say that… I believe in the rule of law, unlike some of these people.’

‘I think I live rent-free in his head,’ she added, according to Axios.

During the interview she was asked whether she felt a woman president might have handled the pandemic differently.

‘I have no doubt, especially if it were me. I have no doubt. I mean, I was born for that,’ the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee said.

Numerous polls show Democratic nominee Joe Biden leading Trump, but the numbers are much tighter in key battleground states.

Trump has continued to hold rallies in the run-up to the election and frequently brings up Clinton at the events.

On Sunday he described her as having ‘more energy’ and being ‘a more intelligent person’ than his current Democrat rival Joe Biden, in a rare moment of praise for his former challenger.

Trump, 74, has had little positive to say about Clinton, 72, in the years since their 2016 election battle.

But on Sunday the president gave Clinton credit for her intelligence – albeit in comparison with Biden, who he endlessly mocks as senile and mentally deficient.

He continued: ‘He’ll go back to bed. Hillary used to spend a lot of time in bed too. But she had more energy than him. She did.’
