Raindrops keep falling on his head! Hugh Jackman wears a protective face mask during a stroll in New York City

Hugh Jackman braved the rainy weather to enjoy a stroll in New York City on Monday.

The 52-year-old Australian actor cut a casual figure as he joined a pal for lunch.

The Greatest Showman star wore a navy face mask and wrapped up warm in a black jumper for the outing.

While the COVID-19 pandemic has brought much of the entertainment industry to a halt this year, Hugh celebrated his film Bad Education winning a Creative Arts Emmy last month.

Even the usually hard-to-please critics couldn’t speak highly enough of Hugh’s performance, with USA Today branding it ‘great acting’, while Decider called it an ‘Oscar-worthy role’.

Hugh will next be seen alongside Rebecca Ferguson and Thandie Newton in the sci-fi romance movie Reminiscence, which hits cinemas in 2021.

Meanwhile, on the personal front, Hugh recently rang in his milestone 52nd birthday.

Hugh has been married to actress Deborra-lee Furness since 1996. They are parents to two adopted children, Oscar, 20, and Ava, 15.

The family have been self-isolating in New York during the coronavirus pandemic.

While they have been based in the U.S. city for several years, Hugh is said to be contemplating a move back home to Sydney, where he owns a $6million property.

‘Hugh has privately considered a move back for years, but he never followed through with it because he has such a good life in the States,’ a source told New Idea earlier this year.

‘Besides his career, there’s a solid support network and he and Deb are now die-hard New Yorkers. They love the spirit of the Big Apple, plus the pace and excitement of being in a city that never sleeps.’

Despite this, Hugh is reportedly missing having Bondi Beach at his backdoor and still feels attached to the laid-back lifestyle in Australia.
