SHOCKING moment Erin McNaught and Candice Warner are manhandled by directing staff

The SHOCKING moment female recruits Erin McNaught and Candice Warner are manhandled by directing staff and shot at with a machine gun… causing them both to breakdown

SAS Australia got off to a gruelling start on Monday as the celebrities struggled with a ‘life or death’ course aimed at mimicking young soldiers on a battlefield.

In particular, female recruits Erin McNaught, 38, and Candice Warner, 35, broke down after they were manhandled by directing staff, Ant Middleton and Mark ‘Billy’ Billingham.

The ex Miss Universe Australia and former Ironwoman were left so shocked after being pushed and dragged through the mud, that they failed to pull the trigger in retaliation after shots were fired at them.

Speaking to the camera, Erin explained: ‘My whole life I’ve only ever attempted things when I’ve known I’m going to be good at them. If there’s any chance of failure, then I won’t attempt it, and that’s the worst lesson to be teaching my kids.

‘If there’s one thing I want to be learning from this course, it’s how to fail and get back up and keep going.’

And Erin practised what she preached as she kept getting back up after being dramatically thrown to the floor by Ant, who simultaneously screamed at her in the high-pressure situation.

After cold water was thrown in her face, Erin was then required to shoot at a man who held a machine gun pointed at her.

When she failed to do so, a furious Mark told her: ‘You just got yourself killed. I’m going to go and tell your husband and kids now!’

Things did pan out any better for Candice, who explained that she wanted to succeed at the task so that her three daughters would be ‘proud of her’.

‘They’re super proud of their dad [cricketer David Warner], but they just see mum as mum – the lady who picks them up from school, makes their dinner, gets them breakfast and then puts them to bed.

‘I want to show them there’s a lot more to mum than just that. I think I’m strong, and I’m mentally tough, but am I?’

At the end of the tumultuous run on the course, Candice stumbled over her fingers when it came time to pulling the triggers.

Her actions left Mark fuming as he also informed her that if this would have been a real battlefield situation, she, along with the rest of her team, would be instantly killed.

Both Candice and Erin were left on the verge of tears as they waited for the rest of the celebrity recruits to complete the task.

SAS Australia continues Tuesday at 7.30pm on Channel Seven
