The visitors took the lead 15 minutes in after Wayne Rooney‘s blocked free-kick prompted a scramble before Graeme Shinnie’s effort deflected off Steve Cook and past Asmir Begovic.
The Cherries spent much of the second half on the front foot with Derby happier to sit back and had gone closest through Arnaut Danjuma who struck the post around the hour mark.
But Riquelme came off the bench to deny the Rams in the 81st minute by slotting home at the back post from Diego Rico’s cross.
