Reba McEntire lights up the night with boyfriend Rex Linn on the CMA red carpet before co-hosting and performing several songs at the event

She’s a luminary in both country music and as a television actress.

Reba McEntire lit up the night on Wednesday for the socially-distanced Country Music Awards, for which she acted both as cohost and performer of several numbers.

The singer, 65, graced the event’s red carpet in a sequined blazer dress and black pant combo, with boyfriend Rex Linn.

Sequins and sparkles were a running theme for Reba throughout the evening, as she donned several twinkly getups for her hosting duties as well as a heartfelt performance with Thomas Rhett.

A returning host this year, McEntire also donned multiple glam black outfits, as seen when she duetted with her CMA cohost Darius Rucker of Hootie and the Blowfish fame.

The three-time Grammy winner also combined the two fashion themes for one of her hosting outfits, which consisted of a silvery sparkly sweetheart top paired with a pleated black skirt.

For her duet with Rucker, the redheaded beauty kept things simple in a black turtleneck maxi dress that hugged her form.

She accessorized that look with a long silver crucifix pendant that hung down to her navel.

And for her performance of Be A Light with Rhett, McEntire wowed in another silver sequin gown, this one floor length with capped sleeves.

Finally, Reba chose yet another sequined getup for a hosting segment, this one a mermaid cut gown in black featuring a sweetheart neckline.

Unlike many other award shows over the past few months, the Country Music Association Awards took place with an audience, with a mix of in-person and taped performances on Wednesday night.

Before showtime, multiple performers, including Lee Brice and Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard, have had to drop out after testing positive for COVID-19.

Lady A also pulled out of a scheduled appearance due to family member coming down with the virus.

Nonetheless, Reba was still looking forward to the festivities, telling Us Weekly: ‘I’m thrilled to be back hosting the CMA Awards and even more thrilled that I get to share the stage with Darius Rucker. We’re looking forward to a night of celebrating great country music and hope you’ll tune in and watch!’

Rucker said: ‘I look forward to the CMA Awards every year because of the incredible performances and the opportunity to celebrate the year in country music.
