Former MAFS bride Ines Basic shares the roles she’d like to play as an actress

‘I’d really like to play a drug addict’: Former MAFS bride Ines Basic set to become an actress after being nominated for an award for her work on the reality show

She recently announced she was eager to pursue a career as an actress after being nominated for a prestigious award for her work on Married At First Sight.

And on Friday, Ines Basic shared the types of roles she could see herself playing, and excelling in.

‘This sounds bizarre and you may think I’m a weirdo, but I’d really like to play a drug addict,’ the 30-year-old confessed to Daily Mail Australia.

‘Anything with a lot of depth and substance to it – even if it’s outrageous.’

The Bosnian beauty, who shot to fame in the 2019 season of MAFS for her steamy affair with co-star Sam Ball, said playing the role of a woman in a prison was also appealing to her – especially on shows similar to Wentworth and Underbelly.

This is due to Ines spending a ‘lot of time’ with women facing some of the most challenging instances – overcoming addiction, prostitution, rape and coming out of prison – while completing her community service for a DUI.

‘They were some of the nicest women I’ve met and they’ve come out, gotten themselves clean and they’re on the right path,’ she said.

‘I’ve been through so many experiences in my life too, and have a lot of depth to me, so I think I could do really well in these sorts of roles.’

Her comments come after she expressed her interest in an acting career while speaking to the Reality Life with Kate Casey podcast on November 6.

Ines said she already had an agent and was trying to distance herself from reality TV by utilising YouTube and Instagram to show off her personality.

‘My agent said “because you’re so established in reality TV and everyone knows your name it’s gonna be really hard to separate yourself from that”,’ she said.

‘So that might be a bit of an uphill battle but we’ll see what happens.

‘Serious acting is an incredible way to discover parts of yourself.’
