Kelsea Ballerini claps back at tweet asking if she is pregnant following the CMA Awards: ‘It’s incredibly insensitive to ask or assume if another woman is pregnant’

Kelsea Ballerini stunned at the 2020 CMA Awards in Nashville on Wednesday night.

But, sadly, the joy of her big evening was slightly tarnished by an ‘incredibly insensitive’ question on Twitter about whether or not she was pregnant.

The 27-year-old country star was quick to respond on social media and shut down the rumor – not only denying that she is expecting – but also dropping a quick lesson on manners.

Rude: Kelsea Ballerini took to Twitter to clap back at a troll who asked if she was pregnant following her last-minute appearance at the CMA Awards on Wednesday night

‘I’m sure you mean well, but it’s incredibly insensitive to ask or assume if another woman is pregnant,’ she responded on Twitter.

‘I’m not, by the way. Just carrying around my organs,’ Kelsea continued. ‘But if I were, I’d want to share that in my own time when I felt ready. Let’s not judge bloat levels on the internet.’

Needless to say, the original Tweet asking if the chart-topper was pregnant was later deleted after Kelsea’s fans flocked to her defense.

The rude pregnancy question came after Ballerini made an appearance at the 2020 CMA Awards.

She had not been initially slated to attend, having not been nominated this year, but was added to the roster last minute after several performers dropped out of the live telecast due to COVID-19.

Kelsea, who was added to the country music lineup just hours before the show, put on a jaw-dropping red carpet display in a stunning red gown.

The full-length strapless dress had embellished dark green vines and red flowers on a sheer overlay.

The gown was gathered at the waist and had a ruffled hem that pooled around the singer’s feet as she posed for photos.

Ballerini wore her blonde hair slicked back from her forehead and tucked behind her ears and completed her look with scarlet red lip color.

She was invited to perform her song Hole In The Bottle during the awards show held at Nashville’s Music City Center after Florida Georgia Line dropped out due to Tyler Hubbard testing positive for the coronavirus.

‘I swear I just came here to unwind and have one drink,’ she tweeted ahead of the show, quoting lyrics from the song.

The songbird took to the stage during the show wearing a tuxedo inspired jumpsuit that hugged her slim waist and gave no indication that there was a baby on board.

Back in September, she had expressed her disappointment at not receiving any CMA Awards nominations following the release of her self-titled Kelsea album.

‘Putting out an album and working as hard as I can, even through a pandemic, I just felt disappointed to not be a part of a community that I work really hard to stand up for and be a face of and make music that I really do hope represents the genre well,’ Ballerini told People

‘I just felt disappointed, and that’s okay. That’ll make me make a better record next time,’ she said.
