Kelly Clarkson joins a friend for dinner in Malibu after talk show staff test positive for COVID-19

Kelly Clarkson joins a friend for dinner in Malibu after staffers on her talk show test positive for COVID-19

Kelly Clarkson was spotted leaving Nobu in Malibu late last night with a friend.

The 38-year-old singer and talk show host made a rare appearance as she stepped out in a long black dress and a patterned blazer.

The sighting comes a day after staffers on her talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, tested positive for COVID-19

Out and about: Kelly Clarkson, 38, made a rare appearance in Malibu last night as she joined a friend for dinner after staffers on her talk show tested positive for coronavirus yesterday

For her late night outing, Clarkson sported a flowing black dress that hit above her ankles and a pair of studded black heeled booties.

Layering up for the chilly ocean air she threw on a blazer with embroidered detailing.

Kelly opted to forego a handbag in exchange for a micro black leather backpack.

She left her blonde locks down and wore a statement necklace around her neck as she left the celebrity haunt with friends.

She kept herself safe while wearing a patterned face mask, despite the fact that members on the production staff of her talk show tested positive for COVID-19.

Though it is unclear if Clarkson was exposed due to NBCU’s strict protocol, her potential proximity to sick staff is unknown.

The show filmed its most recent episode on Thursday with plans to resume production on Nov. 17th pending on re-testing results.

The individuals on staff received a positive diagnosis during routine testing per the network’s playbook which also mandates contact tracing and re-testing due to state and county guidelines.

As the virus continues to run rampant, Clarkson’s show is not the only one to stop down production due to positive tests.

Other shows currently on hold include Chicago Fire, The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Family Karma and The Real Housewives of NYC.

Last month Clarkson made her return to The Voice season 19 as the show resumed in-person production.

Restrictions require fellow judges Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and John Legend to all sit eight feet apart from each other without a studio audience present.

Speaking of the new changes, Clarkson seemed very pleased with the intimate nature the show now provides.

‘It’s much more intimate. You’re more connected to the artist on stage because there’s not a bunch of people clapping or screaming or yelling or dancing,’ she told People.

She continued, ‘It’s cool because you can hear a pin drop. The show is 19 seasons in, so it’s nice to see a different vibe. I’ve enjoyed it.’
