    Mariah Carey has shared her excitement for The Crown series four in a new fun video.

    The legendary singer, 50, took to Twitter to share the animated clip where she even put on a fake British accent. 

    Mariah revealed that she had been sent a red box like the late King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II receive in the hit Netflix series.

    The red briefcase-style box is used to deliver important documents between the government and the reigning King or Queen. 

    Opening the box up, the singer gushed over the ‘attention to detail’ as she produced a newspaper which had headlines coinciding with the time frame of the fourth series, which chronicles the years from the late 1970s to the early 1990s.

    Mariah also produced a letter, which was stamped with the late Margaret Thatcher’s address of 10 Downing Street. Series four documents Thatcher’s time as Prime Minister with Gillian Anderson portraying the role. 

    Reading out the document, the singer put on a fake British accent as she declared: ‘In honour of season four, we wish to offer a rare glimpse into the “iron lady” herself… Margaret Thatcher.’

    Mariah quipped: ‘This will get edited, I know!’ the star then lifted a secret layer off the red box which showed a bottle of Thatcher’s former favourite bottle of whiskey and her beloved glass decanter.

    Ending her video, the star said: ‘Listen, I don’t know what to say. If you haven’t watched The Crown, you are missing out. Go watch season one, watch it through now.’

    Squealing with excitement, she added: ‘I don’t even do this type of thing, I never do this but it’s the best. I can’t wait, I’m so excited!’ 

    Mariah captioned the fun video with: Well done you, @TheCrownNetflix , dahhhlings!’ followed by a collection of red heart emojis.

    The Crown made its long-awaited return to screens on Sunday with the Royal Family facing a period of transition plagued by political division and the emerging of a modern icon.

    Series four sees the Netflix show transition from the 1970s into the 1980s, with stars Olivia Colman, Tobias Menzies and Helena Bonham Carter joined by newcomers including Emma Corrin, Gillian Anderson and Angus Imrie.

    Gillian recently discussed her role as the late Thatcher and said she had the ‘most extraordinary mind’.

    The actress, 52, portrays the former Prime Minister in the new season of the critically lauded series which debuted on Netflix on Sunday.

    Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar about the role for their inaugural Bazaar At Work Week series, Gillian said: ‘I wouldn’t necessarily agree with her leadership style. By the end, I think she became quite dictatorial.  

    ‘She was in power for 11 years, and they say that leaders should never go beyond seven years or they start to go mad. But she had the most extraordinary mind.’  

    The Crown series one to four is available to watch on Netflix.
