‘Your cancer scare is karma’: TOWIE’s Bobby Norris reveals he has been targeted by vile trolls since his split from Matt Snape and says it was ‘terrifying’ finding lump on his testicle

Bobby Norris has revealed that he has been targeted by vile trolls since he split from ex-boyfriend Matt Snape in October.

Talking in this week’s new! magazine, the TOWIE star, 34, said that one person even cruelly called his recent cancer scare ‘karma’.

In October, Bobby discovered a lump on his testicle which he had to pay privately to be checked out with an ultrasound, which turned out to be ‘nothing sinister’.

Talking about his ‘intense’ few weeks in a new interview, the reality star insisted that people need to be ‘kinder’ as he also reflected on his split from Matt.

The couple came to a mutual agreement to end their one-year relationship over lunch in October after ‘something changed’ in their dynamics.

Bobby said that he understands people are upset about their split but added as devastated as they may be, he is more so about the break-up.

He continued: ‘People are upset that they think I’ve made him give up his life and made him move to Essex [from Reading]. People said, “You used him for company in lockdown”. But no, I was with him a long time before we even knew what Covid was.

‘Then you get people saying, “Your cancer scare is karma.” It’s bizarre that anyone would have that mindset. People need to be kinder.’

Talking about their split, Bobby said it has been ‘sad’ as he has lost his best friend as well as his partner.

The reality star also admitted that his work schedule was to blame as they had gone from spending every day together during lockdown to him filming TOWIE six days a week, as well as his radio show and maintaining his toned physique at the gym.

HOW TO TELL IF A LUMP COULD BE CANCER

Cancer Research UK says all lumps or swellings which don’t go away should be taken seriously and deserve a doctor’s opinion.

Most cancers produce tumours, which are growing lumps of cells which can produce noticeable lumps if they’re close to the surface of the skin.

If you cannot explain where a lump has come from and it’s not connected to a physical injury like a bruise, it may be cause for concern.

Cancerous lumps are usually hard and painless to touch, although they may ache at times. Lumps which can be felt usually appear in the breasts, testicles, neck or armpits, but potentially also on the arms or legs.

If the appearance of the lump is accompanied by feelings of severe tiredness, night sweats, breathlessness, or unexplained weight loss it could be a sign of cancer.

Always visit a doctor if you are worried about a lump or the symptoms above.

Despite their split, Bobby insisted he will never give up on finding the one as he wants to settle down and have a family.

As well as going through an emotional split, the reality star also had a cancer scare after discovering a lump on his testicle.

Bobby went to get it checked out at the doctors but the hospital was unable to perform an ultrasound due to the coronavirus crisis, so he had to pay privately where he discovered that it was ‘nothing sinister’.

He said that there is ‘never a good time’ to discover a lump but on top of his split and the pandemic, it was an ‘intense’ and ‘surreal’ experience.

Bobby added: ‘It was terrifying, I was lucky enough to be able to pay to get one done privately and it was something I wanted for my own peace and mind. Thankfully, it was nothing sinister.’

The reality star revealed that it was a ‘no-brainer’ to share his recent health scare as he wants to raise awareness and encourage other people to get checked out.

Bobby revealed he had split from his boyfriend of one-year, Matt, in October.

The TOWIE star took to Instagram to reveal the news, saying there is no hard feelings and he wishes Matt ‘all the best’.

The former couple first met on the show, when Bobby went to a salsa class with his pals in a bid to find love once and for all.

Confirming the break-up, Bobby wrote: ‘Hey guys, I just want to acknowledge the recent speculation regarding my relationship…I can confirm that Matt and I are no longer together.

‘We share some amazing memories of our time together and I truly wish him all the best…x’

WHAT ARE THE SIGNS OF TESTICULAR CANCER?

During the early stages, testicular cancer typically presents as a hard lump or swelling in a testis.

The lump is usually painless and can vary considerably in size but is typically the size of a pea and located on the front or side of the testicle.

Not all individuals with testicular cancer will present with a lump in their testicles.

    • Any enlargement or change in the way the testicle looks or feels
    • A sensation of heaviness in the scrotum
    • A dull ache in the testicle, lower abdomen (stomach) or groin region
    • A collection of fluid in the scrotum

Symptoms can be subtle and therefore easily missed which is why it is so important to familiarise yourself with how your testicles feel when they are healthy.

If the cancer is not detected early, it may spread to other parts of the body and you may develop symptoms in parts of the body other than the affected testicle.

    These include:

    • Back pain
    • Shortness of breath
    • A decreased libido
    • Fatigue
    • A cough
    • Swelling and tenderness in the chest

However the good news is testicular cancer is very treatable, with around a 95 per cent cure rate.
