The men on the planet are afflicted by ‘Noise’ – a force that puts all their thoughts on display.

Todd believes women ceased to exist long ago, wiped out by the same deadly pathogen that unleashed Noise.

Todd is able to communicate with her in a patch of silence in a swamp, where he’s not affected by Noise.

The pair decide to join forces to decipher why New World exists, where the women are, and what Noise is.
