Tragedy as swimmer is ‘killed in shark attack’ at popular Western Australia beach
A swimmer has tragically been killed in a shark attack at a popular beach in Western Australia.
The swimmer was attacked on Cable Beach in Broome, on the northwest coast of Western Australia, on Sunday morning.
Police said the swimmer was bitten north of the Cable Beach rocks and St John Ambulance received the triple zero call at 8.37am, The West Australian reported.

It is understood the swimmer lost their hand and was also bitten on the upper thigh.
No further details about the person are currently known but police confirmed the individual had died.
Cable Beach has been closed to the public.
