RHOC star Kelly Dodd’s brother Eric Meza says their mother is in the ICU battling coronavirus

The Real Housewives of Orange County’s Kelly Dodd’s brother Eric Meza says their mother is in the ICU battling coronavirus … after Kelly criticized for behavior amid pandemic

The Real Housewives of Orange County’s Kelly Dodd’s brother Eric Meza says their mother Bobbi Meza is in the ICU battling coronavirus.

Meza took to Instagram Saturday, according to US, asking people, ‘Prayers for my mother. She has COVID19. Prayers needed for my mother. Thank you. She is in ICU.’

Meza shared a picture of he and his mother together with the post, which was subsequently taken down from his page.

The latest: The brother of Real Housewives of Orange County star Kelly Dodd says their mother Bobbi Meza is in the ICU battling coronavirus

The 45-year-old reality star, according to the magazine, had left a comment on the page telling Eric their brother JR Meza had given her different information. She wrote, ‘Mom has me blocked! Jr said she’s not in ICU,’ in a remark that was subsequently deleted.

Dodd made headlines in connection with the virus earlier this after saying on social media that she believed that the pandemic was ‘Gods way of thinning the herd’ as she argued with an Instagram user who called her out after taking a cross-country flight in April.

A user wrote to Dodd, ‘If non-essential workers keep traveling back and forth like you, it will last longer,’ to which the reality star replied, ‘If it’s dangerous why are the airlines still flying? You think I want to fly?’

Dodd, who had visited back east to see her now-husband, Fox News correspondent Rick Leventhal, added, ‘I had to get back, how is that elitist? People are so judgemental it’s sick!’

The Bravo star added: ‘Do you know how many people died from the H1N1, the swine flu or SARS? It’s 25% get your facts straight you are only hearing numbers not the reality! It’s God’s way of thinning the herd!’

Dodd advised her followers, ‘If you are vulnerable or compromised stay inside. If you don’t protect others by wearings masks and gloves keep your distance and don’t go out if you are ill!! It’s common sense!’

She subsequently apologized for the remarks, clarifying how she meant the comment to land.

‘When I wrote that it’s “God’s way of thinning the herd,” that’s not what I meant,’ Dodd said on Instagram Stories. ‘What I meant was, “Do these pandemics happen because it’s God’s way?” I’m not God. I’m not insensitive.

‘I feel bad for all the families that have lost loved ones, and I do think we should all stay at home and protect everybody. That’s not what I meant, and I want to apologize to anyone who got offended, OK? I’m sorry.’

Dodd also caught flak in late May after posting a clip from a restaurant outing in which she didn’t wear a mask. She was with her mom and daughter Jolie, 14, on the outing, in which she said, ‘No one is wearing masks here in Orange County … because no one is dying here of the virus.’

She was also at the center of controversy during her bridal shower last month prior to her nuptials to Leventhal, as there was minimal mask wearing or social distancing at the event, which was attended by her castmates Gina Kirschenheiter, Emily Simpson and Elizabeth Vargas.

Dodd was also seen wearing a hat that read Drunk Wives Matter, a spoof on the serious Black Lives Matter movement.
