Kylie Minogue admits she got a ‘magical feeling’ after meeting her boyfriend Paul Solomons

‘I thought I was acting cool but maybe I wasn’t’: Kylie Minogue, 52, admits she got a ‘magical feeling’ after meeting her boyfriend Paul Solomons, 44, for the first time

Kylie Minogue has admitted she got a ‘magical feeling’ as soon as she met her boyfriend Paul Solomons two years ago.

The singer, 52, told how she knew she had found something special with Paul, 44, as all her friends said she had started acting different.

Speaking to Heat magazine, she said: ‘Yeah I did [get a magical feeling] actually. Maybe not quite like a romance novel, where there are butterflies and stars start shooting through the air! But yeah, definitely.

‘All my friends said to me, “You were acting different.” And that’s when I knew that there was something. Because I thought I was acting cool but maybe I wasn’t.’

Kylie told how she and Paul got together after a mutual friend suggested they meet but it took her a while before she agreed to it.

She said: ‘I wasn’t interested in meeting anyone at that point, so I kept saying, “Yeah, but no – one day.” Anyway, eventually that day happened and yeah, we connected, we liked each other.’

Elsewhere during the interview, Kylie discussed her split from former fiancé Joshua Sasse, 31, in 2017, saying there are still some ‘scars’ from the relationship.

Kylie explained she spent 2017 writing her album Golden and by the time it came out the following year, she had met Paul who helped her move on.

The hitmaker added that she experienced self-doubt after the split but thinks that it helped shape her and she now sees it as part of the ‘beauty of experience’.

Not long after her split from Joshua, Kylie told Red magazine that she doesn’t think marriage is for her.

It comes after Kylie recently told how Paul has even charmed her 100-year-old grandma after making a ‘special effort’ when he first met her in Australia last year.

She said: 'Yeah I did [get a magical feeling] actually. Maybe not quite like a romance novel, where there are butterflies and stars start shooting through the air! But yeah, definitely'

‘He is such a good support. We have a laugh. We have both been through enough in our lives and just met at the right time, so it’s lovely.’

To which ITV host Lorraine Kelly asked if they would be getting married anytime soon with a blushing Kylie exclaiming: ‘Lorraine!’

The singer went on to reveal how Paul has charmed her entire family, including her 100-year-old grandma, after learning Welsh sayings to impress her.

She said: ‘She turned 100 last December and Paul did come to Australia for that. I think he flew in the day before so he was absolutely sideways with jetlag. It was like Meet The Parents times 100…

‘He did charm them all and he actually made a special effort. He might kill me for saying this but he would look up some Welsh sayings and just go to Google and hear how to say tiny Welsh phrases. My granny absolutely loved it.’

The singer recently topped the album charts with her brand new album, DISCO, beating Little Mix’s Confetti to the top spot and in doing so made chart history.

Kylie has scored a number one album in the 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s, and now the 20s, and in another new record, DISCO also marks the biggest opening week of 2020 so far in the UK, with 55,000 chart sales.

Talking about the success on Lorraine, she said: ‘It’s unbelievable, so thanks to everyone. I still get to do what I love doing and what I feel challenged by. It’s fantastic.’
