‘Pregnancy has kicked my a**!’ Rebecca Adlington admits she feels like ‘bursting into tears for no reason’ as she approaches her third trimester
Rebecca Adlington has admitted she feels like ‘bursting into tears for no reason’ as she revealed she’s hit the 26-week mark of her pregnancy in a candid Instagram post on Tuesday.
The former Olympic swimmer, 31, who is expecting a son with boyfriend Andrew Parsons, uploaded a make-up free image of herself cradling her growing baby bump as she touched on approaching her third trimester in an accompanying caption.
‘Pregnancy has kicked my ass today. Feel exhausted yet I’ve done nothing and like I’m going to burst into tears for no reason at all’, the athlete admitted.

The sportswoman, who also shares daughter Summer, five, with ex-husband Harry Needs, discussed her experience with being pregnant during the global pandemic.
Rebecca said: ‘I’m 26 weeks now and I know sooo many people who are pregnant but I would love to hear how others have found it.
‘As much as I don’t want to moan, pregnancy during this global pandemic has been a challenge.’
The I’m A Celebrity star went on to confess she felt ‘disconnected’ from others due to the current coronavirus restrictions, and is terrified at the prospect of welcoming her child alone.

Former sports champ Rebecca shared: ‘Andy hasn’t been allowed to come to any hospital appointments, many of my friends and family I still haven’t seen, no baby shower.
‘I only met my midwife for the first time last week so it’s felt a lot more disconnected and i’m not even allowing myself to think about the possibility of having to give birth by myself. That terrifies me.’
The media personality also spoke about juggling her pregnancy with handling renovation work at her home, before asking her social media followers for name suggestions and revealing her mini-me Summer is ‘beyond excited’ about his arrival.
Becky explained: ‘Having said that we have made things a lot worse for ourselves by having a house extension and having no kitchen at all for 2 months. I also know when he arrives that none of that matters as long as he’s healthy.

‘I can’t wait to get to the exciting bit now of buying bits and coming up with names (any suggestions welcome) Summer is beyond excited too.
‘She made him a card at school yesterday so she has something to give him when he arrives… absolutely melts me!!!’ (sic)
Last month, the blonde revealed her sadness that property manager Andrew, 30, was unable to accompany her to her 20-week scan recently.
Rebecca reflected on the changes COVID-19 has brought about to pregnancy appointments as she wrote: ‘Had my 20week scan this week and loved seeing this little guy again

‘Andy isn’t allowed in with me, so sad partners aren’t allowed to be part of these magical stages.

Rebecca and her former spouse Harry split in 2016 after 18 months of marriage, and she went onto reveal she was dating Andrew in 2018.
On discovering the gender of their child, she recently HELLO!: ‘He was on his back with his legs wide open showing us his full package. I couldn’t stop laughing. It was such a funny, joyous moment.’
The athlete said the couple had suspected the child would be male, adding: ‘We had a feeling and so did our friends and family.
‘I feel different this time. I’m bigger and I’ve been craving carbs and savoury things, not sweet things like I did with Summer.’
Rebecca and Andrew met through the dating app Bumble in January 2018 and moved in together last summer.
She also went on to address the news that Harry, with whom she co-parents Summer, has recently announced he was bisexual.

Harry came out as bisexual in June this year, and told BBC News that he entered into a relationship with another man in 2019 and said he didn’t feel he could truly say he was bisexual until this happened.
Rebecca said: ‘Regardless of his sexuality we’ve always supported each other. When you care for another human being you want that person to be well, no matter what they’re going through.
‘You’ve got to be there for those people in your life. Summer is the priority for both of us and we always put her first and I think that’s why we get on so well.
‘Harry is really excited about the baby. He has always known I wanted more kids and he was really happy for Andy and offered to help if he needs any tips. He’s been brilliant. Our child will get to know Harry as well.’
