Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac reveals the title he wanted to call his book… which was REJECTED

Too rude to print? Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac reveals the title he wanted to call his book… which was rejected by publishers

He regularly leaves his co-stars in stitches during his fun-filled weather reports on Sunrise.

But when Sam Mac proposed a humorous title for a book he’s been busy working on, his publishers were less than impressed.

The weatherman revealed on Sunday that the original title for his manuscript was Moist Conditions, but it was denied by Hachette Australia in favour of ‘Accidental Weatherman’.

Denied: Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac, 39, has revealed that the original title for his manuscript was Moist Conditions, but it was denied by Hachette Australia in favour of ‘Accidental Weatherman’

‘I regret to inform you that the publisher rejected my proposed title of “Moist Conditions”,’ the 39-year-old captioned a photo of the manuscript on Instagram.

‘I now have three days to read through my book one final time before it’s sent to print. Wowsers.

‘Pre-orders SOON & in stores in April @hachetteaus’.

Accidental Weatherman does, however, go hand-in-hand with ‘the story of what happens when a hilarious Adelaide boy who knows nothing about meteorology scores the weatherman gig on the highest rating breakfast TV show in Australia.’

In it, Sam recalls the random, and often crazy, adventures he has had since starting with the network – such as bungee jumping, swimming with sharks, taking his mother to the Logies and stripping naked for The Real Full Monty.

In January, the funnyman announced he was ‘officially an author’ when presenting the ‘final draft’ of Accidental Weatherman.

‘I now sport a beret, monocle and semi-convincing beard. Sorry guys, it’s the law,’ he captioned a post of him wearing a beret and monocle while holding the draft.

‘As an author, it’s my duty to loudly and obnoxiously begin all anecdotes with the phrase “As an Author…” Effective immediately.

This is all very new, so please warm me into it by addressing me as an Author in the comments section… and in public.

‘Regards, your friend (and Author) Sam.’
