Alex McKinnon’s wife Teigan says she’s ‘in awe’ as she shows off her post-baby body just one week after welcoming twins with the former NRL star

Former NRL star Alex McKinnon and wife Teigan welcomed their twin daughters, Audrey and Violet, last Monday.

And on Tuesday, school teacher Teigan showed off her post-baby body in candid pre and post-partum shots.

Teigan shared a series of images on her Instagram stories, one at 36 weeks pregnant and one this week, as she spoke about how ‘in awe’ she was of the female body.

Teigan captioned her post: ’36 weeks in. One week out. The female body is crazy.’

She added: ‘In awe that my body has carried all three of my girls and is still nurturing them earthside.’

Teigan and Alex, 29, welcomed their twin daughters on April 26. They’re also proud parents to daughter Harriet, two.

Announcing the birth on Instagram at the time, she could be seen cradling her girls on her chest and beaming, looking positively radiant.

‘Two little precious girls have entered the world and have stolen our hearts,’ she wrote in part of her caption.

The pair only took their girls home from the hospital on Saturday.

‘Home,’ Alex captioned one photo, which was shared on their Instagram stories.

The McKinnons had announced they were expecting twins in November last year.

Former Newcastle Knights star Alex, who became a quadriplegic after a horror tackle seven years ago, posted a photo to Instagram of himself with Teigan and their daughter Harriet holding out balloons spelling out their big surprise: ‘Twins.’

The couple later revealed they’d been left speechless when their GP broke the news to them following a scan.

‘We’re extremely grateful – with a million different emotions,’ Alex said.

‘I’m still trying to get my head around all that stuff like two baby seats, two cots, two high chairs… it’s amazing how the rollercoaster of life works.

‘I’m an only child and so we always wanted a big family. I guess we’ve got our wish, that’s for sure.’
