EXCLUSIVE: ‘I took my bikini off because it got wet!’ Italian model says she ‘regrets’ posing topless with Jack Brooksbank on a vintage speedboat after four hour lunch in Capri and apologises to Princess Eugenie left at home with their five-month-old son
- Jack Brooksbank, 35, spent the weekend on the Mediterranean island of Capri on the sun-kissed Italian coast
- Princess Eugenie’s husband was seen clasping a glass of rose while on a vintage speedboat with three women
- He appeared relaxed aboard the classic 26ft ‘gozzo’ boat with bikini-clad female pals Rachel Zalis, Maria Buccellati and Erica Pelosini
- The pictures raised a few eyebrows because Princess Eugenie was left at home looking after their baby son
- Now Ms Pelosini has told MailOnline how she found it ‘very hurtful’ that people have jumped to conclusions about the pictures
- The Italian said that she removed her bikini top because it got wet and that she wishes she had not done it
Stunning Erica Pelosini and two bikini-clad models enjoyed an afternoon on the sun-kissed Italian coast on a vintage speedboat with Mr Brooksbank clasping a glass of rose while Eugenie was in Windsor looking after their five-month-old son, August.
Eyebrows were raised as the 35-year-old wrapped his arm around Pelsoni’s waist during the cruise around the chic Mediterranean island.
And speaking exclusively to MailOnline, Ms Pelsoni said she regretted taking off her bikini top during the excursion.
She said: ‘I usually never go topless, but my bikini got wet and I decided to take it off. I know it does not look right for Jack and his family. I felt very bad for them when I saw the images of him surrounded by three women because his wife was not there.
‘It led people to make improper suggestions and jump to conclusions and it’s very hurtful that people are thinking this. I’m very sorry if I caused any embarrassment to Princess Eugenie and Jack. It wasn’t appropriate for me to be topless.’

For most new fathers, life is an endless grind of dirty nappies and sleepless nights. But for Princess Eugenie’s husband, it’s clasping a glass of rosé on a vintage speedboat off the sun-kissed Italian coast while surrounded by bikini-clad models

Mr Brooksbank spent the weekend on the chic Mediterranean island, attending a star-studded charity ball under the stars while his wife is back home.
He is a brand ambassador for Casamigos tequila, a sponsor of the invitation-only Unicef Summer Gala, where tickets are priced from £8,000 to £25,000.
And ahead of the bash, he spent Friday afternoon aboard the classic 26ft ‘gozzo’ boat, exploring the caves and grottos dotted around Capri’s coast.
Joining him and Ms Pelosini were Rachel Zalis – a former editor of Glamour magazine who is now Casamigos’s global director, and who soaked up the rays in a black bikini – and Maria Buccellati, a model turned fashion ambassador.
Ms Pelsoni said: ‘Looking at the images, I can understand how they could be misinterpreted. I’m topless, Maria is hugging him, and Rachel is also a very beautiful woman, but people are assuming the wrong things.
‘We were there as friends and work colleagues having a wonderful afternoon in the Italian sun. Jack is a very dear friend of mine and I have known him for a number of years. He’s also good friends with the other two women. It’s very upsetting for me that people could be thinking the wrong things.’
Ms Pelosini revealed that ahead of the ball, she decided to take the group to her favourite restaurant, Lo Scoglio, which is on the Italian mainland on the stunning Amalfi coast.
They hired a boat because it is easier to get to it than by road. After a near four-hour lunch, they were returning to their hotel when they decided to stop for a swim.

Ms Pelosini said: ‘I’m Italian and wanted to take Jack and my friends to my favourite restaurant in the world. I wanted them to have a great Italian meal. We had a wonderful, long lunch and got quite hot on the way back so decided to stop the boat and go for a dip to cool off.
‘If I had known we were being photographed I would not have gone topless and I would have worn a better outfit. We were just a group of friends enjoying a beautiful Italian summer day.’
Ms Pelosini revealed that during the long weekend, Mr Brooksbank showed her photographs of his new-born son and also spoke about how much he missed him and his wife.
She recalled: ‘Jack was speaking about his baby and showing us pictures of him. He looked adorable. He’s a very proud father. One day he told us he was very sad to be away from Princess Eugenie and his son.
‘When you have a new-born baby you want to be with them all the time, so I think it was quite difficult for Jack to be in Italy away from him.’
Ms Pelosini said that after the images were published in the media, she only briefly spoke to Mr Brooksbank about them at the airport as they flew home, raising concerns how they could be ‘misinterpreted.’
She said: ‘We had a quick chat, but Jack said there’s nothing to worry about. I felt that he has a strong relationship with his wife. She knows that nothing was going on.
‘She knows that he was with some female friends having fun and that she can trust him.’

Ms Pelosini maintained that she had also decided to speak out about the pictures because is angry about how she has been portrayed, following their publication.
She fumed: ‘It’s been reported that I’m just an Italian topless model, some kind of bimbo who’s just hanging out with her famous friends.
‘I’m not just a pretty face in a bikini hanging about on a speedboat. I’m a hard work who has established herself in the fashion world.’
Ms Pelosini lives in Los Angeles with her husband Louis Leeman, one of the world’s leading shoe designers.
The couple married seven years ago on Capri and do not have any children.
She said that if she had given birth five months ago like Princess Eugenie and her husband had been photographed with some glamorous women, she would not be angry.

She added: ‘If that was me who gave birth five months ago and I saw my husband enjoying himself in the sun I would be happy for him. But if he was pictured kissing another woman or doing something else with them then I wouldn’t be so happy.’
Ms Pelosini, who would only reveal that she is in her ‘mid 30s’ started modelling at the age of four and by the age of 14 had appeared on the catwalk for the world’s leading designers.
Since then, she has established herself as one of the fashion industry’s leading stylists and works as an ambassador for top end brands such as Bulgari, Salvatore Ferragamo, Harry Winston, Rolls Royce and Tom Ford. She is also involved in a number of film projects in Los Angeles.
She lives in a Beverley Hills mansion with her husband, enjoying a spectacular jet set life and is considered an influential figure in the international fashion industry.
She admitted to owning 4,000 pairs of shoes and four vintage sports cars, including a Ferrari and a Porsche.
