A prominent Ripple executive has provided some important advice on the best ways to save cryptocurrency in cold wallets.
David Schwartz, the chief technical officer of Ripple and one of the designers of the XRP Ledger, posted some images of his XUMM wallet on the X social media platform.
This is “certainly an OG wallet,” according to Schwartz, but because XUMM was only introduced in 2020, he must have found a way to synchronise his previous XRP address with XUMM.
More significantly, a commentator contacted Schwartz for help on keeping cryptocurrency in a cold wallet, and the Ripple CTO responded with several suggestions. The CTO of Ripple cites SHIB as a trustworthy wallet.

In the event that the commentator’s phone is lost, stolen, drowned, etc., Schwartz suggested that he have a backup wallet key for peace of mind: “It could be the key recorded on a secure machine or piece of paper.” An other backup option that the Ripple CTO proposed was a backup Tangem card.
This year, Tangem, a Swiss-based manufacturer of cold cryptocurrency wallets, teamed up with the Shiba Inu team, a well-known cryptocurrency with a canine motif, which is headed by the anonymous creator Shytoshi Kusama.
Together, Tangem and SHIB have created cryptocurrency wallets with the SHIB logo that resemble bank cards. Several blank Tangem cards are included with Tangem wallets, allowing users to duplicate their wallet keys and make a backup.
A new safety feature has been added to Tangem wallet. Tangem has added two new security measures to its wallet bearing the SHIB trademark
This is a unique, foolproof key recovery mechanism that allows users to log in with their email address. This secure recovery mechanism is substantially different from conventional techniques for getting the wallet’s seed phrase back; on the other hand, the conventional two-factor authentication mechanism is also there.
The first 5,000 SHIB wallets of this year have already been sold by Tangem, which plans to delivery them in July. The Swiss business declared at the end of September that it was getting ready to distribute more SHIB wallets to the army of Shiba Inus.
With these wallets, users may purchase and sell cryptocurrencies as well as store over 6,000 different cryptocurrencies, including as Ethereum, Bitcoin, Shiba Inu, and others.
The wallet connects to a smartphone in order to function. With the release of this wallet and its sponsorship of the Blockchain Futuristic Conference in Toronto in mid-August, SHIB has advanced to a point where it is now in the same league as major cryptocurrency exchanges like Binance and Coinbase, moving from being a simple meme coin to a mainstream player.
